Discipline Is Freedom

We’re all really in search of some type of freedom. Financial Freedom, freedom from health issues, freedom to do what you want, when you want. Sometimes we think there’s this illusion that eventually things will be amazing and never bad and everything will be just how we want it. I think that’s wrong. I don’t think life ever goes your way for too long, otherwise you would get to comfortable. And that is why true freedom, is in discipline.

Discipline really is freedom if you think into it. Imagine most of your week, work, personal life, business, recreation. Something goes wrong to some degree, most of the time. Usually a lot of us have the discipline to ignore the problem, being that we’ve probably faced, and overcome that challenge before. (Maybe you’ve figured out how to get to work sooner and skipping lots of traffic in a crunch). This has been programmed into us just like if you’ve ever worked out and continued “on the wagon” for a certain amount of time. You have adapted to a certain standard of discipline and it’s become so habitual, It isn’t much of a thought, It’s just something you do.

This is why discipline is freedom. Doing what you need to do, especially when you don’t want to do it. Practicing finding the positive in all situations, seeing the light in the dark, these are habits that are only formed through consistency, which only occurs through discipline. So if you want real freedom, follow through with your thoughts, actions, and words. Be disciplined. And then you will really feel free.
